World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will gain 3percent of its previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. Like item upgrades , upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using standard methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
The player can get up to five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know what will be improved after a reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it is likely that the item will be obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded various ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 whenever you can.

You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a statistic by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the various Glyphs, and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
Utilizing a Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. For example that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385. Each level requires a different number of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is upgraded.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an individual player upgrade the equipment they have it will be replaced by a new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This can be a downside in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrade s. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This is useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can use up many resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each each time you upgrade an item, it has the chance to fail. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to go to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will need to carry each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade requires the use of different upgrade ingredients.
